Rules
- The Tournament is open to all desiring to enter. Commercial Charter Boats are eligible only to the extent that their charter parties are the registrants. Maximum of six (6) anglers per boat. All Florida and Federal fishing regulations apply. No commercial equipment or electric reels - This is sport fishing.
- Tournament Headquarters will be the Ft. Pierce City Marina, Ft. Pierce, Florida. Entry fee is $200 per boat for the tournament. However, entries submitted prior to May 15, 2008 will be $150 per boat.
- Boats may fish out of any inlet.
Tournament fishing begins at 6:30 am. Please contact Blue Water Open
Headquarters to advise departure. Anglers are asked to check in by VHF radio
or cell phone if no fish are to be weighed.
- All eligible fish must be weighed at Tournament Headquarters between noon and 4:30
pm to qualify for prizes. (Weigh-in defined as having the boat in the harbor at Ft. Pierce City Marina.)
Heaviest weight shall be used in determining winning fish. All ties will be decided by earliest weighed fish. All fish not claimed by 6:00
pm at the weigh-in station will become the property of the Treasure Coast Blue Water Open
Charity Fishing Tournament.
- A communications system has been established for your safety and convenience. The Committee will monitor Channel #68 (VHF) to assist you in any emergencies and questions that might arise. Boats without VHF capability
are REQUIRED to fish in the company of a craft so equipped.
- Participants in the Tournament enter at their own risk. The Exchange Club of Indian River, Ft. Pierce City Marina and/or any or all of their officials and members shall be exempt from any liability for loss, damage, negligence, harm or injury suffered by the participant, entrant, angler, companies, boat captains, crew members, vessels and equipment which may occur during the Tournament.
- Any protests must be in writing and in the hands of the Tournament Committee prior to 5:00
pm on Tournament Day. The Committee reserves the right to judge the qualifications of each entry and the decision of the Committee will be final in all instances.
- The Tournament Committee reserves the right to make special awards and to change any of these rules at any time without notice, prior to and including Tournament Day.
- For cash awards, fish categories are as follows:
Kingfish, Dolphin and Grouper.
- In the event of fewer than 75 entries, prize money will be prorated accordingly.
- Small Craft Warning postpones Tournament.

Since this is a charity event, there will be no refunds of entry fees after 7 days prior to the tournament. |
